I’m happy with this piece still cause I got so many gay native men telling me how happy they where to see this and how they saw them and their husbands, boyfriends, and partners in it. And just from other gay natives who loved it.
I got so many racists and homophobes calling me slurs and generally being shit heads so seeing how many people loved it vs the bigoted shit I got thrown at me made it worth it, I’ll hopefully be able to finish other installments of this series this month

I know I said I’d shut up about this, but it’s so frustrating to see/hear people vocalise phrases along the lines of “if you don’t do [action], you are a [negative adjective] person”. it’s like people are building sentences that follow the pattern of an obsessive compulsive thought
what, fundamentally, is the difference between “if you don’t read classics, you’re anti-intellectual” and “if you don’t [do a compulsion] you’re a bad person”? both are not based in logic. both are trying to make you feel guilty and evil until you do the magical action…
anyway, the internet continues to be bad for people with OCD, and this is just one more reason for that
